SELF-DEFENSE ACADEMY

Schedule:
This is a 30+ hour course, ideally provided in four full 8 hour days.

Each session covers different topics and defenses.  All returning academy graduates receive a 25% discount for ANY Self-Defense Academy!!  The academy is 30+ hours of concentrated learning!  Generally our courses are open to 16 years and older.

KAPAP is good for anyone...and everyone should have self-defense skills. ​ We specialize in high-quality hand-to-hand reality self-defense courses.  Our student tribe has the opportunity to learn in a low-pressure atmosphere at a pace adapted to their needs.  Training takes place in our private training facility, a few select local schools or studios, or locations more convenient to the student(s).  

Based on the particular needs of our tribe, we progress from fundamentals of hand-to-hand self-defense (stance, striking, clinching, and other specific “tools”) to highly dynamic reality-based KAPAP training.  

Our clientele includes individuals, couples, corporate groups, women’s only groups, college students, law enforcement groups, military groups, security groups, VIPs, and families who simply want to learn together.  The educational experience, training time, and monetary aspects of our training for each session is customized based on the needs of the customer.

Our KAPAP Academy system is focused on achieving balance between the physical, mental, and emotional combat aspects. 

KAPAP Level 1 topics and presentations include:
  • History of Kapap and Israeli Martial Arts/CQB                                                          
  • Training methods for extreme combat conditioning
  • Stances, movement, strikes and kicks
  • Releases from holds, chokes, and grabs
  • Knife defense from knife attacks
  • Restraining /Arresting /Takedowns (if applicable)
  • Fighting skills (striking, kicks, elbow strikes, and knee strikes, etc), and other related skill development.
  • Specific self-defense instruction for encroachment, sucker punches, shirt grabs, tackles, bear hugs, headlocks, chokes, and edged weapon attacks.

KAPAP Module Academies
Our Israeli Face-to-Face Combat (KAPAP) Self-Defense Academies will give you an excellent foundation for self-defense.

Module Sessions will include:
  • Fighting skills (striking, kicks, elbow strikes, and knee strikes, etc), and other related skill development.
  • Specific self-defense instruction for encroachment, sucker punches, tackles, bear hugs, headlocks, chokes, and knife attacks.
You must attend Module 1 to attend Module 2 and Module 3.  You may attend Module 3 and not Module 2 if you have attended Module 1.  You may attend any Evolution in any order IF you are a student who has already attended one of our previous 8 or 12 week academies.  Ideally you elect to attend all 3 Modules, but we have set this up so you may attend each Evolution in smaller increments to try and better accommodate schedules and also to provide for more overall training hours.  Each Evolution will cover different topics and defenses.

Each Module is 10 HOURS of training, so all 3 Modules are 30 hours!
Generally our courses are open to 16 years and older.
KAPAP Immersion Academies
Our Israeli Face-to-Face Combat (KAPAP) Self-Defense Academies will give you an excellent foundation for self-defense.  The KAPAP Immersion Academy is a 3-4 day concentrated learning experience whereby students are completely "immersed" in the training.  We cover the same topics as all three of our 4-Week Academies in a concentrated group of days:
  • Fighting skills (striking, kicks, elbow strikes, and knee strikes, etc), and other related skill development.
  • Specific self-defense instruction for encroachment, sucker punches, shirt grabs, tackles, bear hugs, headlocks, chokes, and edged weapon attacks.
Each day will cover different topics and defenses. 

All returning academy graduates pay only 50% of tuition for ANY Self-Defense Academy!!
The Immersion Academy is 30+ hours of concentrated learning!
Generally our courses are open to 16 years and older.
KAPAP Instructor development
Instructor Development:  For those interested in becoming a KAPAP Instructor, we have an apprentice instructor training program.  You must first complete at least 3 KAPAP Academies before you can apply to become a KAPAP Apprentice Instructor.  The KAPAP Apprentice Instructor program takes you though the nuances of interacting the curriculum and helps prepare you to take the KAPAP Academy Level 1 Instructor course presented by Albert Timen. 

KAPAP Academy Level 1 Instructor:    If you are interested in the  KAPAP Instructor certification course, we will host the KAPAP Academy Level 1 Instructor course at our facility.  When we host this, it is also open to other US-based or international KAPAP practitioners who are interested in becoming KAPAP Academy Level 1 Instructors.   All those seeking to be a KAPAP Academy Instructor in the Colorado region will be vetted and required to go through our Instructor Development program (see above).
